The Sisterhood of the Traveling Mink

Say hello to Peyton Ladt. Easily one of the sweetest people we've met in New York, she smiles at you as if you are a longtime friend. Over oysters at Leadbelly recently, a group of us were all swapping stories and we discovered the Ladt girls—there's four of them in New York—have this mink coat that travels between them. A night at the opera, an evening gala, ballet, an anniversary dinner, or any other occasions could have one of the sisters darting across the city to don the heirloom piece.

The full length mink belonged to their grandmother. It still bears her initials on the inside. That night we knew we wanted to capture a sliver of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Mink. Wearing fur is about feeling luxurious...dramatic...there's an occasion to it. But it doesn't have to be precious either. Wear it like a robe with a ball cap? Sure. Given Peyton's love of music, what better way than over her David Bowie tee while messing around on a lazy Saturday?
