Women We ❤️ Tara Carroll

Women We Love is a chance for us to interrogate sit down with the women in our lives whose style we love, work we admire, and heart we adore. We give them the celebrated Proust Questionnaire—which dates back to 19th-century Parisian salons—and throw in a few of our own. Grab a coffee, something to take notes with, and get to know the women we love as they ponder love, death, and the meaning of life.

Without further ado, Tara Carroll.

What is your greatest extravagance? My homemade roasted butternut squash soup with raw heavy cream…and the occasional pint of Van Leeuwen’s Salted Caramel ice cream.

What do you dislike most about your appearance? My crooked bottom teeth (thanks to procrastination in wearing my retainer—post braces—in junior high). Sorry mom and dad 😬.

In which season do you feel most beautiful? Fall.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? "Formidable." "Interesting."

Which historical figure do you most identify with? Anyone who was a formidable bad ass.

Who are your favorite writers? I have favorite books. Right now it’s Selected Poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay and Greg McKeown's Essentialism.

What do you consider your greatest achievement? Helping those around me change the course of their lives by opening them up to new people and experiences.

What is your favorite journey? The one into another’s heart, especially when it’s romantic.
